SITUATION
A Finnish retail chain with over 30 stores has been heavily investing in operational development. The company required support in executing a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) project for store digitalization. A miniature store (or test store) was built for this PoC project, where various digital solutions could be tested and analyzed in an authentic environment.

OBJECTIVE
The client aimed to streamline and enhance store operations with digital solutions and find the best ways to utilize these solutions. The goal of the PoC project was to determine and measure the solutions' impact at the store level and how the benefits could be realized in practice. Furthermore, the client wanted to clarify the necessary changes to the stores' operating model and management system.

HOW DID KONSULTTIVERKKO HELP?
In the assignment, we measured and analyzed the effects of various digital solutions on store work. From the perspective of the client and the store personnel, we reviewed the different solutions, quantified the impacts, identified key risks, and prepared a recommendation for the implementation phase and change management across the entire retail chain. Additionally, Konsulttiverkko provided recommendations for areas of development for the stores' new management system.

RESULTS
The company now has a clear view of the effects of digital solutions on store work and how the benefits can be concretely realized (or monetized) at the store and chain level. Furthermore, the company understands the new business opportunities enabled by the solutions.
